To join Groomit, you must:
  • Be a professional groomer with at least 2 years of grooming experience.
  • Provide your own grooming tools and supplies.
  • Have the proper licenses and insurance required in your area.
  • Complete Groomit’s online application and vetting process.
Once approved, you’ll sign our independent contractor agreement, upload your documents, and set up your schedule and pricing. From there, you’ll be ready to start accepting clients through the Groomit platform.

The process is simple:
  • Apply online with your experience and details.
  • Interview & vetting – Groomit reviews your application and may schedule an interview.
  • Submit documents & agreements – insurance, licenses, contractor agreement.
  • Set your schedule & pricing directly in the Groomit app. Go live on the platform – you’ll start receiving client requests in your area.

With in-home grooming, you bring your tools, and clients provide a safe space with water and electricity. You:
  • Set your own grooming prices.
  • Control your availability and locations.
  • Keep 100% of your price (Groomit adds its own service fee separately).

  • If you already own a grooming van:
    You can bring it onto the platform after passing Groomit’s inspection.
    You set your grooming prices plus your own van fee.
    You are responsible for maintenance, insurance, and operating costs.
  • If you don’t own a van:
    Groomit, through partners, may provide access to a Groomit van in select areas.
    Vans are limited, and priority goes to groomers who can commit to high activity and meet all requirements (valid license, clean driving record, parking, and water access).
    A refundable deposit may be required.

You set your own price. Groomit adds a platform fee on top, which the customer pays.
Groomit may display your services in “Best Match” pricing ranges based on average rates in your area.
You always have the choice to accept or decline appointments.

Yes. As an independent contractor, you decide:
  • Which days and times you’re available.
  • Which areas you serve.
  • Which pet sizes or breeds you want to groom.
  • Which customers you accept (you can block certain requests if needed).

Groomit may share data about busy times and locations to help you maximize bookings, but the choice is always yours.

All reviews on Groomit are verified — only customers you’ve actually groomed can leave feedback. Positive ratings build your reputation on the platform, helping you attract more clients over time.

Groomit pays weekly. Here’s how it works:
  • Your pay cycle runs Monday through Sunday.
  • Payments are processed every Tuesday.
  • Funds typically reach your bank account by Wednesday (depending on your bank).

Every groomer uses the Groomit Business App, where you can:
  • View your upcoming appointments.
  • Accept or reject client requests.
  • Track your daily and weekly income.
  • See each appointment added instantly to your wallet once completed.
    Monitor your total payout that will be processed during the weekly cycle.

Yes. 100% of your tips are yours.
Groomit does not take any portion of your tips or add fees on top. Customers tip directly through the app, and tips are included in your weekly payout.

Groomit adds its own platform service fee on top of your price, which the customer pays.
  • You never pay to be listed or marketed on the platform.
